About The Position

The Branch Rental Manager will increase rental margin and revenue by maximizing vehicle utilization, controlling operational costs, and implementing an aggressive marketing strategy to anticipate future customer needs. This role is responsible for outside sales, customer retention, fleet management, daily cash logs, and the marketing plan. The manager will ensure operational efficiency at the branch through effective people development, including hiring, training, supervising, and motivating staff, ultimately aiming to increase market share, profits, and overall rental growth.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration or equivalent work experience in similar or related industry
Five (5) years or more Rental or Sales experience required
Three (3) years or more experience in Rental product line to include outside sales & rental counter supervision required
Two (2) years or more experience managing others required
Proficient in Microsoft Office environment advanced required
Complete understanding of marketplace conditions in order to maximize utilization of the rental fleet advanced required
Must possess a profound knowledge of rental operations and asset management advanced required

Responsibilities

Sets appointments with prospective customers and performs customer retention visits.
Performs customer reviews & surveys to determine customer satisfaction.
Overcomes customer objections and sells the value of the product.
Develops fleet planning information with recommendations for Director of Rental.
Ensures rental contracts are properly completed.
Makes certain that customers are placed in a ready vehicle.
Acts as custodian of cash and Rental Assets-Accounts Receivable.
Follows up on problems.
Analyzes Fleet Management Reports to identify problem vehicles.
Checks vehicles for physical damages.
Closes contracts and extends them at the correct number of days and miles.
Ensures maintenance and fleet appearance meet company standards.
Recruits and selects new hires.
Provides ongoing guidance, communication, and training to staff.
Executes Performance Appraisals, identifying and developing individual strengths and weaknesses.
Coordinates and maintains current accurate data within the company's marketing database.
Maintains and expands relationships with existing customer base.
Maximizes rate opportunities within the marketplace.
Provides rental counter training and supervision.
Performs other duties as assigned.
