About The Position

The Branch Manager will lead the San Diego branch, which is the company's headquarters and largest production location. The primary goal is to grow the branch's funded volume to over 30 million per month and cultivate a strong team culture. This is a hands-on leadership role where the manager is responsible for production numbers, headcount planning, and growth strategy. The role involves actively participating on the floor, monitoring calls, providing second opinions on deals, and assisting with complex files. The ideal candidate is someone who supports their team's growth and development, leading by example and fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Direct non-QM experience is required (originated or directly managed origination of DSCR, bank statement, or similar non-agency products).
  • Proven sales leadership experience (managed a team of loan officers, with ability to speak to their production, retention, and ramp times).
  • Active NMLS license or the ability to obtain one, including California state licensing.
  • Comfort with a metrics-driven environment (scorecards, call reviews, weekly accountability).

Nice To Haves

  • Consumer direct experience strongly preferred (managing a team on inbound, high volume lead flow).
  • Experience building or running a junior loan officer or ISA to LO development program is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own branch funded volume, lock volume, and pull through.
  • Grow the San Diego branch toward 30 million per month in funded volume.
  • Coach non-QM proficiency across the team, including DSCR, bank statement, asset depletion, and 1099 products.
  • Conduct weekly call observation and scorecard reviews.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard experienced consumer direct loan officers in partnership with the recruiting team.
  • Build the ISA and junior loan officer pipeline to develop homegrown talent.
  • Manage lead distribution, call flow, and product mix across the branch.
  • Participate in weekly departmental D10 meetings with other branch managers.
  • Run branch-level meetings.
  • Lead from the floor, supporting team growth and development.
  • Demonstrate a beginner's mindset, willingness to learn and ask questions.
  • Exhibit curiosity and strong negotiation skills.
  • Act as a self-starter, figuring out how to achieve goals.
  • Care about team members' paychecks and proactively address performance dips.
