About The Position

The Branch Manager leads a major United Rentals business enterprise and is responsible for building a profitable branch through business and management skills. The role hires and motivates employees across sales, service, maintenance, and driving functions; ensures enthusiastic and informed customer service; and oversees branch safety, productivity, and profitability. This position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

At least 5 years of successful business management experience with profit and loss responsibility at a branch or other individual profit center.
Understanding of business accounting principles and budget preparation.
Strong sales and customer service experience.
Effective leadership, motivational, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Outside sales experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience in the equipment rental industry preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage overall branch operations to ensure safety, productivity, customer service, and profitability.
Oversee sales efforts and business initiatives.
Prepare profit and loss statements, monthly operating reviews, yearly budgets, and other reports on operational status.
Manage personnel matters.
Oversee safety matters, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations, and drug and alcohol testing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
