About The Position

ECS Limited is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage its Salt Lake City office. The Engineering Branch Manager oversees engineering projects, staff, business development, and the branch’s day-to-day operations. The role combines technical expertise and business leadership, including project oversight, client relationship development, staff mentoring, and branch growth. The manager also contributes to a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.

Requirements

10+ years of technical and managerial experience.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Strong business acumen with P&L experience.
Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
Commitment to safety and engineering excellence.
BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university, with a concentration in geotechnical engineering.
If unlicensed, ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the local or regional engineering climate.
MS in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG).

Responsibilities

Manage multidisciplinary engineering projects, including geotechnical and construction materials projects.
Assemble project teams and provide leadership throughout the full project lifecycle.
Oversee project financials, resource allocation, schedules, and deliverables.
Ensure quality control, safety standards, and engineering best practices are maintained.
Perform technical reviews of engineering designs, drawings, plans, and specifications.
Pursue new business opportunities through networking, proposals, and client relationships.
Manage branch budgets, forecasts, hiring, and staff development.
Promote company values, a positive culture, and high employee engagement.
Mentor junior and senior engineering staff in technical matters and client relationship development.
Oversee day-to-day branch operations.
