Bowling Technician
About The Position
Apex Entertainment is hiring a Bowling Technician at its Virginia Beach location. This hands-on role maintains and services bowling lanes and equipment to support safe, seamless, and enjoyable guest experiences. The technician performs routine maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment overhauls; assists with maintenance budgeting and long-term planning; keeps detailed service records; and trains and supervises hourly pin chaser staff on basic equipment care and safety. The work is primarily indoors, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures or loud noise and potential risks from mechanical or electrical equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing bowling and pinsetter equipment; Brunswick experience preferred.
- At least 18 years old.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, lubrication equipment, and testing equipment.
- Safety-conscious and able to work independently.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds multiple times per shift.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and twist.
Nice To Haves
- Brunswick equipment experience.
- Completion of a Brunswick training program.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Brunswick GSX pinsetters, Custodian lane machines, scoring systems, ball returns, bowling balls, and related components.
- Perform routine service and preventive maintenance on bowling equipment.
- Clean, adjust, and troubleshoot automated scoring systems.
- Identify and order replacement parts and supplies.
- Perform major overhauls and rebuilds as needed.
- Assist with planning and managing service and maintenance budgets.
- Contribute to long-term repair and improvement plans for bowling equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, parts usage, and equipment performance.
- Train and supervise hourly pin chaser staff on basic equipment care and safety.
