About The Position

The Body Shop Estimator is responsible for writing estimates and selling service within the Body Shop department. This role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and contributing to the Body Shop's profitability. The Estimator will manage Direct Repair Programs (DRP) with assigned insurance companies, maintain positive relationships with customers, insurance companies, and other departments, and ensure the smooth operation of the body shop.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer skills needed.

  • Sales and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Write estimates and sell service.
  • Ensure firm customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to Body Shop's profitability.
  • Manage Direct Repair Programs (DRP) with assigned insurance companies.
  • Maintain good relations with customers, insurance companies, and other departments.
  • Resolve customer complaints swiftly, professionally, and courteously.
  • Build clientele for the dealership.
  • Set clear standards for customer treatment.
  • Build, train, and maintain a body shop organization that ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure profitability of the body shop through the sale of high-quality service.
  • Keep abreast of all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to the body shop department.
  • Assist all technicians in the complete of correct repair procedures the first time.
  • Set and maintain daily goals to ensure body shop team performance.
  • Maintain all communications with the customer during the repair process.
  • Keep the body shop manager aware of any equipment that needs to be repaired.
  • Satisfy all insurance companies with whom the Estimator does business.
  • Project an organized and well-managed business to insurance companies.
  • Write estimates/repair orders in accordance with each insurance company profile.
  • Work with technicians to get vehicles disassembled for proper estimates.
  • Grow business with existing DRPs.
  • Look for opportunities to add new DRPs.
  • Attend appropriate Estimator seminars.
  • Maintain a level of training and knowledge to stay current in the body shop field.
  • Assist other departments to correct customer problems.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with other departments to reduce conflict and maintain dealer profitability.
  • Assist the sales department in the sale of new and used vehicles.
