Boat/ATV Parts Sales - Full Time
About The Position
The Parts Sales role maintains and controls boat, motor, trailer, and ATV parts inventory and assists external and internal customers with parts purchases and questions. The role supports a high standard of customer service by answering inquiries, researching parts information, and processing sales at the parts counter or by phone. The position also handles parts purchasing and receiving, inventory tracking, payments, refunds, warranty returns, and inventory counts. It works with technicians and riggers to issue parts for work orders and maintains a clean, professional work area. Duties are performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to resolve problems and recommendations for improving work procedures, policies, and practices.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts or percentages and make change for customers.
- Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
- Good phone etiquette.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate a computer and perform data entry functions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities
- Provide a pleasant and productive shopping experience and support a strong commitment to customer service.
- Respond to customer inquiries about retail parts, price quotes, and general information by phone or at the parts counter.
- Research customer inquiries using internet sites, manufacturer contacts, or on-site reference materials.
- Process parts sales transactions by phone or at the parts counter.
- Safeguard funds received and reconcile the till daily.
- Create purchase orders for parts needed for stock, customers, or work orders and forward orders to the appropriate vendor.
- Receive ordered parts and verify shipping documents against merchandise and quantities received.
- Enter received parts into the IDS inventory tracking system.
- Place received merchandise in designated locations for easy retrieval.
- Verify full payment before shipping special-order parts.
- Issue parts to technicians and riggers according to work order requirements and enter issued parts into IDS to track inventory.
- Process refunds for returned parts or cancellations.
- Send returned and warranty parts to the appropriate vendor and obtain credit.
- Prepare for and conduct required parts inventories according to established schedules.
- Report and reconcile inventory shortages or variances identified through physical inventory.
- Maintain a clean and professional work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
