About The Position

Dane Street, an Independent Review Organization and national provider of Utilization Review services, is expanding its physician panel. This telework opportunity is for physicians to provide medical necessity reviews for treatment requests and appeals of previously denied services. Reviewers are independent contractors (1099) compensated on a per-case basis, with a caseload customized to their schedule. The average review time is 15-20 minutes, allowing for multiple cases per hour. Training and onboarding are completed in less than a week, enabling physicians to earn supplemental income while maintaining their active practices. No doctor/patient relationship is established, and all opinions are advisory.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Connecticut Medical License
• Active Practice
• Board Certified in PM&R/Pain Management

Responsibilities

• Address the medical necessity of treatment requests.
• Address the medical necessity of previously denied services in appeals.
• Provide advisory-only opinions.
• Participate in peer-to-peer calls when necessary for adverse determinations.
