About The Position
Dane Street, an Independent Review Organization and national provider of Utilization Review services, is expanding its physician panel. This telework opportunity offers physicians a customized caseload for supplemental income and non-traditional work. As an independent contract reviewer (1099), you will be compensated on a per-case basis for addressing the medical necessity of treatment requests and previously denied services. The average review takes 15-20 minutes, allowing for multiple cases per hour. Training and onboarding are completed in less than a week, enabling you to start earning while maintaining your active practice.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Texas Medical License
- Active Practice
- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (Spine)
Responsibilities
- Address the medical necessity of treatment requests.
- Address the medical necessity of previously denied services in appeals.
- Provide advisory-only opinions as there is no doctor/patient relationship established and no treatment is provided.
