About The Position

The Blow Molding Technician operates, monitors, and troubleshoots machinery to produce plastic bottles, ensuring high-quality production, proper material flow, and adherence to safety standards. The role involves trimming flash, inspecting finished bottles, packing containers, and conducting minor maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

The position is onsite in Charleston, South Carolina, on the first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed. The technician must also be open to a flexible schedule that may include 12-hour shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Hard-working attitude and leadership skills.
• Ability to stand for 8–12 hours, use stairs, and lift up to 50+ pounds.
• Must be comfortable with heights.
• Must be open to a flexible schedule, including 12-hour shifts, holidays, and weekends.
• Wear slip-resistant, safety-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in blow molding and plastic manufacturing is highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate blow molding machinery to produce plastic bottles, managing heat and pressure settings.
• Inspect finished containers for defects, such as flash or improper weight, using visual inspection and often automated leak detectors.
• Monitor raw materials and maintain consistent, efficient production flow.
• Perform minor maintenance, such as removing jammed bottles, clean molds, and follow safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear.
• Identify and resolve basic machine errors, such as air pressure issues or clogged, improperly formed, or flat parts.
• Perform complex machine setups, troubleshoot equipment, and adjust the extruder, mold, and trimmer.
• Trim flash and pack containers.
