About The Position

Amalie Oil Company is hiring a full-time, onsite Blow Molding Technician 1 in Charleston, South Carolina. The role operates, monitors, and troubleshoots machinery that produces plastic bottles, ensuring high-quality output, proper material flow, and compliance with safety standards. Work includes trimming flash, inspecting finished bottles, packing containers, and performing minor maintenance in a fast-paced production environment. The stated first-shift schedule is 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed. The position also requires schedule flexibility, including potential 12-hour shifts, holidays, and weekends. The work environment is hot and fast-paced.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in blow molding and plastic manufacturing is highly preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate blow molding machinery to produce plastic bottles, managing heat and pressure settings.
Inspect finished containers for defects, including flash and improper weight, using visual inspections and often automated leak detectors.
Monitor raw materials and maintain consistent, efficient production flow.
Perform minor maintenance, such as removing jammed bottles, and clean molds.
Follow safety protocols and wear required safety gear.
Identify and resolve basic machine errors, including air-pressure issues and clogged, improperly formed, or flat parts.
Perform complex machine setups and troubleshooting, and adjust the extruder, mold, and trimmer.
Trim flash, inspect finished bottles, and pack containers.
