Blow Molding Technician, 2nd Shift
About The Position
Amalie Oil Company is hiring a Blow Molding Technician in Charleston, South Carolina. The technician operates, monitors, and troubleshoots machinery to produce plastic bottles, ensuring high-quality production, proper material flow, and adherence to safety standards. The role includes trimming flash, inspecting finished bottles, packing containers, and conducting minor maintenance in a fast-paced environment. This is an onsite, full-time second-shift position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with overtime as needed. The work may involve 12-hour shifts, holidays, and weekends, and takes place in a hot, fast-paced environment.

- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours, use stairs, and lift more than 50 pounds.
- Comfort working at heights.
- Openness to a flexible schedule, including 12-hour shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Wear slip-resistant safety-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in blow molding and plastic manufacturing is highly preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate blow molding machinery to produce plastic bottles, managing heat and pressure settings.
- Inspect finished containers for defects such as flash or improper weight, using visual inspections and often automated leak detectors.
- Monitor raw materials and maintain consistent, efficient production flow.
- Perform minor maintenance, such as removing jammed bottles, clean molds, and follow safety protocols, including wearing proper safety gear.
- Identify and resolve basic machine errors, including air pressure issues and clogged, improperly formed, or flat parts.
- Perform complex machine setups and troubleshoot and adjust the extruder, mold, and trimmer.
- Trim flash, inspect finished bottles, and pack containers.
