About The Position

The Bistro Bartender prepares and serves beverages to guests in the Courtyard Bistro efficiently and courteously. The role promotes the Bistro, takes beverage orders, and prepares and serves guests in compliance with health regulations and local liquor laws. The bartender also assists the Bistro Attendant with food orders, preparation, and service as needed, while following CSM/Marriott standards to support guest satisfaction.

Requirements

At least one year of prior serving/customer service and bartending experience.
Attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.
Ability to perform job duties repetitively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guest needs and complete required paperwork.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Bartender certification preferred.
TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired, or ability to obtain certification as required.

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
Take, enter, prepare, and deliver guest orders accurately and promptly according to standards.
Respond to guest needs and provide high-quality service.
Assist other associates as needed to meet guest needs.
Operate the MICROS operating system and cash register.
Follow cash-handling and POS procedures, and accurately close guest checks.
Dispense appropriate amounts of alcohol and prepare drinks according to recipes and CSM/Marriott standards.
Use equipment properly and follow cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
Check guests’ identification and monitor alcohol consumption to ensure compliance with state and local liquor laws.
Dispose of garbage, pick up trays, restock barware, clear and wipe tables and counters, transfer full tubs to the dish room, and assist with washing barware and dishes as needed.
Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
Assist with inventory, complete inventory par sheets, and perform other duties as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and handle food and beverages in compliance with applicable CSM/Marriott, brand, and local, state, and federal regulations.
Help maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the Bistro, kitchen, and dish room.
Follow CSM/Marriott procedures for guest and associate incidents and know hotel emergency procedures.
Complete required side work and take initiative to assist wherever necessary.
