About The Position

The Billing Specialist enters and completes payer-specific billing for assigned centers and follows up on billing matters. This full-time position is based in Roanoke, Virginia. After successfully completing all training and competency requirements, the employee may work a hybrid assignment or schedule.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of billing experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated analytical skills for reconciling patient accounts.
• High level of initiative, confidentiality, and organizational skills, and the ability to follow complex instructions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with payer-specific state and local officials, center personnel, insurance company representatives, residents, and responsible parties.
• Flexibility, attention to detail, ability to multitask and meet deadlines, effective decision-making, and ability to work as part of a Service Excellence team.

Nice To Haves

• Billing experience in health care and/or skilled nursing is preferred.
• Accounting or collection experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete payer-assigned billing for assigned centers according to the billing schedule.
• Provide backup primary and coinsurance billing for centers assigned to other Billing Specialists.
• Maintain assigned accounts receivable at or below the company goal.
• Post cash as assigned to the payer.
• Attend training sessions as necessary.
• Promote and demonstrate a Service Excellence culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
