About The Position

AES Drilling Fluids is seeking a Billing Specialist for its West Houston office. The position is responsible for securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts, resolving discrepancies, and tracking and monitoring receivables in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The specialist communicates issues appropriately to internal AES customers and management.

The role involves learning the well billing life cycle and product and service reconciliation, identifying inconsistencies in tickets and rig files, and preparing and submitting invoices according to customer requirements. The position also verifies sales tax and customer documentation requirements, coordinates billing issues with Account Managers, and completes customer drilling fluid recaps when requested.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Microsoft Excel skills, and Outlook.
• Ability to work some overtime (10%).
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

• Higher-level education is preferred.
• Two years of relevant billing and accounts receivable-related work experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with ERP software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Learn the well billing life cycle.
• Become familiar with product and service reconciliation.
• Identify inconsistencies in tickets and rig files.
• Create invoices based on inventory control system reconciliation and customer price lists, and process them according to customer preferences.
• Verify that the proper sales tax is applied to invoices.
• Verify customer documentation requirements.
• Correspond with Account Managers regarding billing issues.
• Complete customer drilling fluid recaps as requested.
• Submit invoices according to customer preferences.
• Review invoice submissions in customer portals to ensure they meet customer requirements.
• Verify and post receipts, resolve discrepancies, and track and monitor receivables.
• Communicate billing and receivables issues to internal AES customers and management.
