Requirements

2+ years of billing experience, ideally in transportation or logistics.
High attention to detail — you catch what others miss.
Strong organizational and time-management skills; comfortable juggling multiple priorities under deadline pressure.
Clear written and verbal communication.
A problem-solver's mindset for chasing down and resolving discrepancies.
Comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and internal document systems.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with McLeod Software (LoadMaster module a plus) — no experience? We'll train the right person.
Familiarity with rate structures, accessorial charges, and transportation documentation.
Experience with EDI platforms or customer-specific billing portals.
Post-secondary coursework in Accounting, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

Process and generate customer invoices in McLeod based on load data, rate agreements, and supporting documentation.
Review load details for accuracy and completeness before invoicing goes out.
Confirm required documents (POD, rate confirmations, etc.) are attached and meet each client's billing standards.
Monitor unbilled loads and proactively resolve issues before they delay revenue recognition.
Partner with Dispatch, Customer Service, and AR to track down missing information and resolve discrepancies fast.
Keep billing records audit-ready and compliant with company policy.
Upload invoices to customer portals and/or send via email as required.
Support billing-related reporting, audits, and process improvement projects.
Stay current on customer-specific billing instructions and compliance requirements.
Support month-end close activities tied to revenue and billing.
