About The Position

The Billing Exceptions Lead conducts analysis within an SAP operating system to identify root causes of transaction management and billing errors, and documents and provides corrective actions to enable timely, accurate customer billing. The position leads and/or manages exception specialists for Transaction Management (TM) and Billing. The team identifies process-improvement opportunities to prevent recurring problems and works on special projects and incidents.

The role supports exception management performance analysis, resolution of critical SAP batch process failures, and development of complex SQVI or Excel scripts. It also supports production challenges, reviews functional specifications for potential downstream issues, trains other Exception Specialists, and applies knowledge of Revenue Operations, market transactions, workflows, replication, the SLC lifecycle, and change management procedures.

The position diagnoses and resolves TM, billing, and invoicing escalations; helps specialists identify root causes and solutions for errors, including BPEM and un-invoiced conditions; analyzes replication issues; performs billing adjustments, rebills, locks, and blocks; conducts UAT and provides recommendations to management; resolves complex issues; and interprets customer information to set up complex accounts in SAP.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in a business environment.
• Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with database structures, Access, and SharePoint.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to the listed skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze intra-day exception-management performance against key business metrics for Transaction Management and Billing using advanced analytical techniques.
• Resolve critical SAP batch process failures by running approved customized scripts.
• Write complex SQVI or Excel scripts when needed.
• Assist with special projects, incident resolution, and production work backlogs as needed to meet critical production challenges.
• Build knowledge of advanced SAP transaction codes to perform tasks and retrieve information.
• Review functional specifications to ensure new SAP functionality has a solid design and will not cause downstream issues.
• Train other Exception Specialists on various topics and best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve Transaction Management, billing, and invoicing escalations.
• Help Exception Specialists analyze errors, determine root causes, and develop solutions, including for BPEM and un-invoiced conditions.
• Analyze replication issues and perform billing adjustments, rebills, locks, and blocks.
• Conduct UAT and relay recommendations to management.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues.
• Interpret customer information to set up complex accounts in SAP.
