About The Position

The Billing Clerk accurately records the sale, profit, and commissions payable on sold vehicles and maintains accurate accounting of vehicle inventories. The role bills and posts new and used car deals, receipts deal-related payments, checks deal paperwork for completeness, processes trade-in payoffs and dealer trades, and maintains commission reports. It also provides administrative support as needed and requires compliance with company safety policies.

Requirements

Previous automotive Billing Clerk experience.
Computer literacy, with accuracy using a 10-key pad and typing.
Self-motivation and the ability to prioritize tasks and organize a schedule effectively.
Basic working knowledge of accounting.
Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Mathematical aptitude.
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Must perform duties and responsibilities safely.
Must be able to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug test, and credit report, and have a valid driver license.

Responsibilities

Bill all new and used car deals and post them into accounting.
Receipt all monies received for new and used car deals and dealer trades.
Organize paperwork for each deal and check it for completeness, including signatures and VIN verification.
Process payoff checks for trade-ins and mail them to the appropriate financial institution in a timely manner.
Process dealer trades in and out.
Generate and maintain salespeople’s commission reports and lists of commissions on hold.
Route paid deals to the tag and title clerk for processing as soon as money is received in-house.
Provide administrative support to management, other departments, and employees as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Follow company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report accidents to a manager or supervisor.
