About The Position

The Automotive Detailer cleans and refurbishes new and used automobiles. The role involves washing and waxing vehicle exteriors; vacuuming and cleaning interiors; treating upholstery, leather, vinyl, and fabric; cleaning engines and engine compartments; removing stubborn foreign materials; painting engine components and touching up chipped body surfaces; and restoring vinyl tops. The Detailer must follow company safety policies and procedures and immediately report accidents to a manager or supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Authorized to work in the USA.
Must perform duties and responsibilities safely.
Must demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, and drug test.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes.
Apply wax and wipe or buff vehicle surfaces to protect them and preserve their shine.
Vacuum vehicle interiors to remove loose dirt and debris.
Clean upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces with cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
Apply revitalizers and preservation agents to vinyl or leather, and treat fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
Clean engines and engine compartments with steam-cleaning equipment and cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
Use special-purpose cleaners to remove materials that ordinary cleaning procedures cannot remove, following product manufacturer recommendations and exercising judgment.
Paint engine components and related parts using a spray gun or aerosol can and masking materials.
Apply touch-up paint to chipped vehicle body surfaces.
Apply dyes and reconditioning chemicals to restore the color and condition of vehicle vinyl tops.
Follow company safety policies and procedures and immediately report accidents to a manager or supervisor.
