About The Position

The Automotive Detailer cleans and refurbishes new and used automobiles at Lexus of Birmingham. The role involves cleaning and protecting vehicle exteriors and interiors, restoring vehicle components, and following company safety policies and procedures. Requirements

High school diploma.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must perform duties and responsibilities safely.
Must be able to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, an MVR check, and a drug test.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes.
Apply wax to vehicle bodies and wipe or buff surfaces to protect them and preserve their shine, using cloths or buffing machines.
Vacuum vehicle interiors to remove loose dirt and debris.
Clean upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
Apply revitalizers and preservation agents to vinyl or leather surfaces, and treat fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
Clean engines and engine compartments with steam-cleaning equipment and cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
Use special-purpose cleaners to remove materials not removed by normal cleaning procedures, following manufacturer recommendations.
Paint engine components and related parts using a spray gun or aerosol can and masking materials.
Apply touch-up paint to chipped vehicle body surfaces.
Apply dyes and reconditioning chemicals to vinyl vehicle tops to restore their color and condition.
Follow company safety policies and procedures and immediately report accidents to a manager or supervisor.
