About The Position

Under close supervision, perform basic, routine administrative duties following well-defined, standard procedures. Assist with document processing, compiling special reports, and requesting information from other areas. Aid in filing and retrieval of information in both hard copy and electronic formats. Answer telephone, take messages, and communicate via email (Microsoft Outlook). Receive and distribute incoming and outgoing mail. Use a computer keyboard to enter data, perform calculations, and retrieve information. Utilize a 10-key calculator and operate a variety of electronic and mechanical office equipment. Complete daily billing workflows, usage history requests, and reports. Perform repetitious tasks with accuracy. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to solve problems and take initiative. You will be expected to apply basic education and training to job responsibilities, ask questions when unsure, and demonstrate initiative to handle assignments beyond the basic, routine level.

Requirements

  • High school or GED.
  • At least six months' experience in utilizing administrative office procedures, practices, and equipment.
  • Ability to organize data and processes.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and 10-key calculator.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated.
  • Detail oriented and accurate.
  • Punctual, flexible, and adaptable to ever changing demands and workloads.
  • Basic understanding of the deregulated electric Texas market.
  • Able to see information on computer screen and use computer keyboard.
  • Able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone, or during individual or group meetings.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time (min of 8 hr shifts).
