Bilingual Store Associate (Spanish)
About The Position
Store associates work with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend appropriate solutions. They resolve customer concerns, help maintain product and store quality and visual standards, and stay current on product features. The role focuses on excellent customer service while consistently meeting store sales goals. The position is part-time, with pay starting at $17.27. The selected employee is expected to work at Store #3317, 3140 S. Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60608. The role involves contact with customers, which may include minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other items of value. A review of criminal history is required to protect the business, its operations and reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public. The position is eligible for health benefits, including prescription savings and virtual physician visits, retirement and savings benefits, and a time-away-from-work package that includes vacation, holidays, and military leave.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring employment-work-visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
- Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
- Must be willing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
- For internal Sherwin-Williams candidates: must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal.
- For internal Sherwin-Williams candidates: must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for the current position.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
- Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
- Previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
- Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining their needs and presenting appropriate products and services.
- Build productive, trust-based relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
- Process sales transactions accurately and in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Follow and achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals.
- Maintain precise work order files and formulas.
- Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse.
- Tint and mix products to customer specifications as needed.
- Stock shelves and set up displays.
- Clean store equipment.
- Load and unload delivery trucks.
- Assist with deliveries as needed.
- Maintain assigned areas in an in-stock and presentable condition.
- Remain knowledgeable about products and discuss available options.
- Comply with inventory control procedures.
- Suggest ways to improve sales.
