About The Position

This part-time role supports the success of Sherwin-Williams retail stores. Store Associates work with wholesale and retail customers to identify their needs, answer questions about products, and recommend appropriate solutions. They resolve customer concerns, promote client satisfaction, stay current on product features, and help maintain the quality and visual standards of the products and store. Associates provide excellent customer service while working toward store sales goals. The position involves contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other items of value. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. The company states that it reviews criminal history to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public. The selected individual is expected to work at Store #8670, 10230 Mason Ave, Chatsworth, CA 91311.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for an employment work visa now or in the future.
Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
Must be willing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
Previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.

Responsibilities

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services.
Build productive, trusting relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
Process sales transactions accurately and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Follow and achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals.
Maintain precise work order files and formulas.
Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse.
Tint and mix products to customer specifications as needed.
Stock shelves and set up displays.
Clean store equipment.
Load and unload delivery trucks.
Assist with deliveries as needed.
Maintain assigned areas in an in-stock and presentable condition.
Remain knowledgeable about products offered and discuss available options.
Comply with inventory control procedures.
Suggest ways to improve sales.
