The Action Center is a nonprofit organization in Lakewood, Colorado, with 57 years of experience assisting people facing hardship. This entry-level, temporary position primarily supports community intake and access to no-cost food and clothing services. The coordinator works directly with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, helping them understand their needs, learn about available services, and connect with programs and community resources. The role involves learning about Action Center programs, providing friendly and supportive assistance, helping address challenges, and making appropriate decisions so people receive timely, respectful service. The position will initially be based at the Action Center’s 14th Avenue location in Lakewood, focusing on intake and helping community members access services. As the organization transitions to the Daylight Collective on South Teller Street in Lakewood in February, the position will move to the new location and support the transition to the new service model. Transitional duties include helping community members navigate the building and services, as well as assisting with setup and daily operations. The regular part-time schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flexibility in days and hours is required based on program needs. The work environment varies from an office setting to a fast-paced community center, with active duties inside and outside in all weather.
