About The Position

The Intake Coordinator manages new patient referrals and supports the intake and onboarding process for pediatric home health patients. The role gathers and verifies required information, verifies insurance benefits, coordinates intake scheduling, and helps ensure a smooth and timely start of care. It serves as a key point of contact for families, referral sources, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal care teams. This on-site position is based at the company’s office at the southern edge of Sherman, Texas, near the Sherman/Howe border.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Bilingual in Spanish.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in an administrative, healthcare, medical office, patient access, referral coordination, scheduling, or insurance verification role.

Responsibilities

• Handle new patient referrals from hospitals, doctors’ offices, case managers, and other referral sources.
• Collect and verify information for new pediatric home health patients.
• Screen inquiry calls and follow up with families or referral sources to schedule intakes.
• Verify insurance benefits, including Medicaid and private insurance.
• Coordinate with case managers, clinical teams, and internal departments to assign and complete intakes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established intake protocols.
• Support new client onboarding by ensuring required paperwork and information are completed.
• Communicate with families, internal staff, and community healthcare partners to coordinate a timely start of care.
