The Sherwin-Williams Assistant Manager Trainee Program is an accelerated, entry-level program designed to prepare current employees for a Store Management role in 18–24 months. After successfully completing the initial 6–8 weeks of training, participants may progress into an Assistant Store Manager position. Trainees collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business and contribute leadership and insight to the store’s development and strategy. The program provides experience in store operations, customer relationships, and internal strategy, while participants help grow market share by selling products to commercial users such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers. The training program develops skills for management and professional sales. Participants receive support through structured development discussions, leadership development, and instruction in customer service, sales and marketing, finance, and operations. They also build community relationships that support business growth. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends. The position is eligible for a performance-based bonus and the benefits described in the posting. Duties involve customer contact and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuable items; a criminal-history review is therefore required by the Company.
