About The Position
Canyon Springs Post-Acute is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and experienced Bilingual Activity Assistant to join its skilled nursing team in San Jose, California. Working closely with the Activity Director, the assistant helps develop and lead engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic programs that support residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being. The role focuses on creating meaningful experiences and encouraging residents to participate.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Activity Assistant in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Senior Living community.
- Fluency in Vietnamese or Spanish.
- Passion for working with seniors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented.
- Ability to organize, motivate, and engage residents in activities.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead group activities and one-on-one resident engagement sessions.
- Assist with planning and implementing recreational, social, and therapeutic programs.
- Encourage resident participation and involvement.
- Prepare activity materials and event spaces.
- Document attendance and resident participation as needed.
- Ensure activities comply with facility policies and state and federal regulations.
- Foster a positive, welcoming environment for residents and their families.
