About The Position

PrePass is seeking a BI Analyst to join its Business Intelligence team and report to the Manager of Business Intelligence. The role translates data into actionable insights that support company-wide decision-making. The analyst collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to understand their goals and deliver meaningful insights. The position is primarily remote, with occasional visits to the downtown Phoenix office. The role includes analyzing and reporting on tolling, bypass, device, and customer data; creating and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards, visualizations, semantic models, and DAX measures; investigating refresh failures and data issues; and validating report outputs for accuracy. It also involves documenting reports and data lineage, responding to BI service desk requests, gathering business requirements, and using AI-assisted workflows for reporting and documentation while verifying outputs for accuracy and policy compliance.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar reporting role.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining Power BI reports and semantic models, including DAX.
Intermediate SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions, for querying, validating, and reconciling data.
Ability to manage multiple requests from different stakeholders and explain findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
Bachelor's degree (BSc/BA) in a relevant field.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouses, warehouses, or notebooks, or with a medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) data architecture.
Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT in analytical work, with a habit of verifying results before use.
Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600).
Experience using Git for version control of BI assets.
Familiarity with tolling, transportation, or fleet data.
Exposure to Python, Alteryx, or Power Automate.
Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate dynamic environments and embrace change.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and interpret data to provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting, applying statistical methods where appropriate.
Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in tolling, bypass, device, and customer data.
Respond to ad hoc report and data requests submitted through the BI service desk across multiple business areas.
Create and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations, including semantic model and DAX measure changes.
Troubleshoot report refresh failures and data issues, partnering with data engineers on root-cause fixes.
Validate report outputs against warehouse and source data before release to ensure accuracy, reliability, and accessibility.
Document reports, metric definitions, and data lineage in Confluence.
Use AI-assisted workflows to translate business questions into reporting artifacts, including semantic model changes, DAX, and documentation, and validate outputs for accuracy and policy compliance.
Incorporate AI tools into routine reporting and documentation work, write clear prompts, and refine prompts when needed.
Begin applying simple agentic tools to single, well-defined tasks under guidance.
Review AI outputs for accuracy, ask informed questions, and identify relevant new AI use cases.
Gather and document business requirements for reporting and analytics initiatives.
Look for ways to improve personal workflows and reporting processes.
Collaborate across the BI team to achieve shared goals and mentor teammates one-on-one when opportunities arise.
