About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a BHT Client Driver for its outpatient treatment facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role provides operational support to medical and clinical teams while helping maintain a safe, welcoming recovery environment. It includes monitoring transportation, safely driving clients to admissions, discharges, and appointments, and supporting clients during transport. The position also involves administrative work, incident communication, collecting and delivering appointment documentation and lab specimens, and maintaining the vehicle.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• CPR certification.
• If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety.
• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Warm, compassionate, and empathetic personality.
• Dignified character that models recovery principles.
• Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in the treatment industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams, including admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, and phones.
• Engage with clients and build rapport to create a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce Avenues policies to help ensure the safety of clients and staff.
• Record and promptly escalate critical communications and incidents.
• Complete administrative duties, including shift documentation, inventory, meetings, and office support.
• Monitor the transportation schedule and safely transport clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments as needed.
• Collect and deliver external appointment documentation and lab specimens as needed.
• Provide peer support to clients during transport and assist with luggage.
• Keep the vehicle well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use.
