About The Position
The Bell Ringer rings bells for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations. The position ensures the kettle is never left unattended and greets the public courteously and in a friendly manner. Duties must be performed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s ministry and Christian principles, with professionalism and an understanding of the organization’s mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol. The role requires meeting attendance requirements and standing in one location for extended periods in outdoor weather conditions, with breaks and meal periods as required by state law. Duties are generally performed standing, with brief or occasional periods of sitting or walking. A limited amount of physical effort involving lifting and carrying light objects weighing less than 25 pounds is required for 5–10% of working time.
Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to stand in one location for extended periods in outdoor weather conditions, with breaks and meal periods as required by state law.
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with The Salvation Army’s mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, protocol, and Christian principles.
- Ability to perform duties standing, with brief or occasional periods of sitting or walking.
- Ability to lift and carry light objects weighing less than 25 pounds for 5–10% of working time.
- No formal education or experience requirements.
- No licenses or certifications required.
