About The Position

The Bell Ringer supports The Salvation Army Christmas Program by ringing bells at an assigned location, keeping the kettle attended, and greeting the public courteously and in a friendly manner. The role is seasonal and full-time, based in Conway, South Carolina. Duties must be carried out in accordance with The Salvation Army’s ministry and Christian principles, with professionalism and an understanding of the organization’s mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol.

Requirements

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to stand in one location for extended periods outdoors and take breaks and meal periods as required by state law.
• Ability to perform duties with an understanding of The Salvation Army’s mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol.
• Ability to conduct communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
• Ability to perform duties primarily standing, with brief or occasional periods of sitting or walking.
• Ability to lift and carry light objects weighing less than 25 pounds.
• No formal education or experience requirements.
• No licenses or certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Ring bells for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations.
• Ensure the kettle is never left unattended.
• Greet the public in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Conduct job duties in accordance with The Salvation Army’s ministry and Christian principles.
