About The Position

The Bell Ringer supports The Salvation Army Christmas Program by ringing bells at an assigned location, keeping the kettle attended, and greeting the public courteously and in a friendly manner. The position carries out all duties in accordance with The Salvation Army’s ministry and Christian principles.

This seasonal, full-time position is based at NSC-Rocky Mount Corps in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Duties are performed primarily while standing outdoors, with breaks and lunch periods as required by state law. The role may involve brief or occasional periods of sitting or walking and a limited amount of lifting or carrying light objects under 25 pounds.

Requirements

• No formal education or experience requirements.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to stand in one location for extended periods in outside weather conditions, with breaks and lunch periods as required by state law.
• Ability to perform duties in accordance with The Salvation Army’s mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, protocol, and Christian principles.
• Ability to perform duties with a high level of professionalism.
• Ability to lift and carry light objects weighing less than 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ring bells for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations.
• Ensure the kettle is never left unattended.
• Greet the public in a courteous and friendly manner.
