Behavioral Health Technicians
About The Position
Behavioral Health Technicians provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams at Avenues Recovery Center at Louisiana, a residential facility offering inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation and withdrawal management. They engage with clients and build rapport to help create a warm, accepting recovery environment, monitor clients and enforce policies to maintain safety, and promptly record and escalate critical communications or incidents. The role also includes administrative tasks such as shift documentation, inventory, meetings, and office support. The facility combines a treatment center with converted townhomes, providing inpatient care in a domestic setting. Staff contribute to a homelike atmosphere and support clients’ recovery.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.
- Warm, compassionate, and empathetic personality.
- Dignified character that models recovery principles.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
- If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support to medical and clinical teams, including assistance with admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, and phones.
- Engage with clients and build rapport, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment.
- Monitor clients and enforce Avenues policies to support the safety of clients and staff.
- Record and escalate critical communications and incidents in a timely manner.
- Complete administrative duties, including shift documentation, inventory, meetings, and office support.
