About The Position

The Behavioral Health Technician supports patient care in the adult behavioral health service at Centerpoint Health – Paris. Under the supervision of an RN, the technician helps provide optimal care by monitoring patients, maintaining safety, assisting with daily living activities, following clinician-developed treatment plans, supporting therapeutic activities, responding to behavioral or emotional crises, and documenting and communicating patient progress to the care team. The position is PRN and involves 12-hour shifts as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Handle with Care certification required within 7 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Nursing Assistant Certificate (SRNA/CNA).

Responsibilities

Assist in assuring optimal patient care under the supervision of an RN.
Observe patients closely, document behaviors, and help ensure a safe, secure environment.
Assist patients with hygiene, meals, routines, and basic care needs.
Follow care plans developed by clinicians, including leading or supporting therapeutic activities.
De-escalate situations and respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional crises.
Record patient progress and communicate updates to nurses, therapists, and the care team.
