About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician Shift Supervisor for its inpatient detox and residential treatment facility in Richmond, Virginia. The role provides operational support to medical and clinical teams, helps create a welcoming recovery environment, monitors client and staff safety, completes administrative duties, and supervises and supports Behavioral Health Technicians. The scheduled shift is overnight, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Warm, compassionate, and empathetic personality.
• Dignified character that models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams, including admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, and phones.
• Engage with clients and build rapport to create a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce Avenues policies to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
• Record and escalate critical communications and incidents in a timely manner.
• Complete administrative duties such as shift documentation, inventory, meetings, and office support.
• Oversee, train, and support Behavioral Health Technicians on the shift.
