About The Position

The Mental/Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides for the physical and emotional needs of clients assigned to a cottage and facilitates a healthy group living experience. The role participates in a multidisciplinary treatment team in the care of clients and is described as a good starting opportunity for gaining experience in mental health and social services fields. This position is based at KVC Missouri Residential Treatment Center in Springfield, Missouri. The schedule is four days on and three days off, working overnights. Pay is $18.00–$21.65 per hour, depending on experience and education.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Class E driver's license with a good driving record.
Strong customer service focus.
Excellent time management skills.
Oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, and email applications.
Must be 21 years old to apply.
Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check required.

Responsibilities

Provide for clients’ physical and emotional needs by providing meals and snacks, assisting with personal care, monitoring medication, and intervening in crisis situations.
Facilitate a healthy group living experience by creating a positive and supportive environment, managing conflict, and enforcing house rules.
Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment team, attend treatment team meetings, provide input on treatment plans, and implement treatment plans.
