About The Position

Northumberland County Behavioral Health Services is seeking a responsible individual who is motivated, possesses strong communication, organizational and people skills to aide caseworkers and management staff in empowering the residents of Northumberland County to achieve their highest level of functioning and independence. This is beginning level professional work performing varied assignments for an administrative superior. Work involves both analytical staff projects and clerical support duties, including maintaining organized filing systems, processing high-volume data entry into the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and performing routine office coordination.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Performing a variety of administrative and clerical staff assignments.
  • Analyzing administrative or staff operations and procedures.
  • Performing core clerical functions such as processing mail, managing phone inquiries, and managing office supplies.
  • Creating and implementing processes to improve workflow (e.g., referral processing and interface with the BH/IDS electronic health record/management information system).
  • Developing and recommending work standards and procedures.
  • Conducting research and studies.
  • Preparing reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Performing occasional public relations and liaison duties, e.g., with the EHR MIS vendor.
