About The Position

The Beauty Stylist drives beauty sales across brands through demonstrations and artistry, focusing on recommending products that suit each customer. The role suits someone passionate about beauty products who thrives in commissioned sales and provides attentive, one-on-one customer service. Work hours and schedules vary by week according to business needs.

Compensation is $23.75–$24.75 per hour. Beauty sales roles typically receive 3% commission. The position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of Beauty industry experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and follow-through.
• High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to remain in continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Able to handle bulky or awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling, using available selling tools, including text and social media.
• Track industry trends and maintain product knowledge and expertise.
• Initiate service consultations by asking open-ended questions to understand customer preferences and needs.
• Build lasting customer relationships by following up on purchases, suggesting products, and inviting customers to events.
• Grow sales through appointment-based selling, use of technology, and opening new Nordstrom Rewards accounts.
• Create store events and network in the community.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships across Beauty brands to identify key focuses and products.
