About The Position

CVS Health is seeking a sales-oriented, licensed beauty consultant to deliver a high-quality customer experience in Beauty & Personal Care. The role provides paid beauty services and personalized product advice, while representing CVS and partner brands. Consultants use current beauty knowledge to help customers select products and services and support sales goals. They are responsible for customer consultations, scheduled services and walk-in clients, as well as maintaining their assigned sales area and meeting service, sanitation and training standards. Consultants must maintain and display an active state Cosmetology/Esthetician license while working and complete the required assessments before providing services.

Requirements

• Current, valid Cosmetology/Esthetician license in the state of employment; maintain and display the active license during working hours as required by state law.
• Willingness and ability to perform ear-piercing services and all other applicable services offered at the locations where employed.
• Pass required skills assessments and training courses for paid services offered at assigned store locations.
• Ability to use sales data and product or brand knowledge to meet sales and beauty-service goals.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Goal-driven, able to multitask, and able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities and learning new procedures.
• Availability to work at a CVS store and travel to sales programs and events as needed.
• Availability for a flexible retail schedule, potentially including mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours and peak hours.
• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent is listed as a qualification; the Education section says it is preferred but not required.
• In Nevada, applicants must provide confirmation of a state-issued Makeup Artist Registration or Threader Registration.

Nice To Haves

• Prior beauty sales experience and a strong passion for beauty.
• Bilingual English and Spanish ability is required at specific CVS stores.

Responsibilities

• Seek out customers and provide personalized beauty sales service, including upselling and suggestive selling.
• Answer customer questions using product and brand knowledge, and engage customers with CVS services, Beauty Club programs, promotions and in-store events.
• Represent CVS and partner brands and provide required ear-piercing and other applicable paid services after passing proficiency assessments.
• Demonstrate proper product use and explain product features and benefits to help customers make purchase decisions.
• Manage time among consultations, scheduled services and walk-in clients.
• Create and maintain product displays and promotional materials supporting brand, corporate and local advertising efforts.
• Participate in and represent CVS at sales programs and events.
• Keep the assigned area stocked, well-merchandised, clean and compliant with hygiene standards.
• Follow CVS sanitation and hazardous-waste-disposal policies.
• Complete ongoing sales, brand and paid-service training with CVS and service partners.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
• Keep up to date with beauty trends and techniques.
