About The Position
CVS Health is seeking a licensed, sales-oriented Beauty Sales Consultant to deliver beauty services, personalized product advice, and a high-quality customer experience in CVS stores. The role supports the end-to-end customer experience in Beauty & Personal Care, combining customer service, product sales, paid beauty services, merchandising, and operational responsibilities. Consultants represent CVS and partner brands, keep their knowledge of beauty trends and techniques current, and complete required assessments and training before providing services. The role requires an active state Cosmetology/Esthetician license, displayed during working hours as required by state law. Consultants must be willing to provide ear-piercing and other applicable services at the locations where they work, and may travel to sales programs and events. The role is full-time, with 40 anticipated weekly hours and a flexible retail schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours. The typical pay range is $20.45–$29.45 per hour, with the actual offer dependent on factors including experience, education, and geography.
Requirements
- Current and valid Cosmetology/Esthetician license in the state of employment, maintained and displayed at work as required by state law.
- Ability and willingness to provide ear-piercing services and other services offered at the locations where the consultant works.
- Successful completion of required skills assessments and training courses for in-store paid services.
- Ability to use sales data alongside product and brand knowledge to meet sales and beauty service goals.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Goal-driven approach and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and learn new procedures quickly.
- Availability to work at a CVS store and travel to sales programs and events as needed.
- Availability for a flexible retail schedule, potentially including mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours.
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Nevada applicants must provide confirmation of a state-issued Makeup Artist Registration or Threader Registration.
- Some CVS stores require bilingual beauty advisors who can speak English and Spanish.

Responsibilities
- Seek out customers and provide a high-quality beauty advisor experience.
- Provide personalized sales service based on customer needs, including upselling and suggestive selling.
- Use conversation and verbal sales skills to encourage customer purchases.
- Answer customer questions with detailed product knowledge and serve as a brand expert.
- Promote CVS services and Beauty Club programs, invite customers to in-store events, and explain promotions to support sales.
- Represent CVS and partner brands while providing beauty services and maintaining high service standards.
- Provide ear-piercing services in all stores and perform other applicable services offered at assigned work locations.
- Pass proficiency assessments before performing in-store services.
- Demonstrate product use and explain product features and benefits to support purchase conversion.
- Manage time among consultations, scheduled services, and walk-in customers.
- Keep an active Cosmetology/Esthetician license displayed during working hours as required by state law.
- Create and maintain product displays and promotional materials supporting brand, corporate, and local advertising.
- Participate in and represent CVS at sales programs and events.
- Keep the assigned area clean, stocked, well-merchandised, and compliant with hygiene standards.
- Follow CVS sanitation and hazardous waste disposal policies in a timely and compliant manner.
- Complete ongoing sales, brand, and paid-service training with CVS and service partners.
- Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company policies and guidelines.
- Stay current on beauty trends and techniques.
