About The Position

CVS Health is seeking a licensed, sales-oriented Beauty Sales Consultant to deliver a high-quality customer experience in Beauty & Personal Care. The consultant provides paid beauty services and personalized product recommendations, shares current beauty trends and techniques, and supports sales through product knowledge, upselling, and customer engagement. The role involves representing CVS and partner brands, maintaining an appealing and hygienic service area, and completing required sales, brand, and service training. Consultants must display an active state Cosmetology or Esthetician license while working and successfully pass assessments before performing services. Ear piercing is required in all stores, along with other applicable services offered at the locations where the consultant works.

The position requires working at a CVS store and traveling to sales programs and events as needed. Scheduling is flexible and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours. The role is full-time, with 40 anticipated weekly hours. The stated typical pay range is $20.57–$29.57 per hour, with the actual offer depending on factors such as experience, education, and geography.

Requirements

• Current, valid Cosmetology or Esthetician license in the state of employment, maintained and displayed during working hours as required by state law.
• Ability and willingness to perform ear-piercing services in all stores and other services offered at the locations where the consultant works.
• Ability to pass required skills assessments and training courses for paid services offered at the relevant store locations.
• Ability to use sales data and product or brand knowledge to meet sales and beauty-service goals.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Goal-driven and able to multitask.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and learn new procedures quickly.
• Availability to work at a CVS store and travel to sales programs and events as needed.
• Availability for a flexible retail schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours.
• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• For applicants in Nevada, confirmation of a state-issued Makeup Artist Registration or Threader Registration.
• For specific CVS stores, ability to communicate with customers in both English and Spanish may be required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the store to provide service, consult customers, stock products, face displays, and update promotions.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch, and to reach or grasp objects, including items on lower shelves.
• Manual dexterity to perform tasks such as hair styling, makeup applications, and ear piercing.

Nice To Haves

• Prior beauty sales experience and a strong passion for beauty.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred in the Education section, although it is not required there.

Responsibilities

• Seek out customers and provide a high-quality beauty advisor experience.
• Provide personalized sales service based on customer needs, including upselling and suggestive selling.
• Use verbal communication and product knowledge to answer questions, build sales, and increase the sales basket.
• Promote CVS services, Beauty Club programs, in-store events, promotions, products, and services.
• Represent CVS and partner brands while delivering beauty services and maintaining high service standards.
• Provide required ear-piercing services and other applicable services offered at the locations where the consultant works, after successfully passing required proficiency assessments.
• Demonstrate proper product use and explain product features and benefits to help drive purchases.
• Manage time among consultations, scheduled services, and walk-in clients.
• Display an active Cosmetology or Esthetician license during working hours as required by state law.
• Create and maintain product displays and promotional materials supporting brand, corporate, and local advertising efforts.
• Participate in and represent CVS at sales programs and events.
• Keep the assigned area clean, stocked, well-merchandised, and compliant with hygiene standards.
• Follow CVS sanitation and hazardous-waste-disposal policies promptly and compliantly.
• Complete ongoing sales, brand, and paid-service training with CVS and service partners.
• Maintain a professional appearance consistent with company policies and guidelines.
• Stay current on beauty trends and techniques.
