Beauty Sales Consultant, Licensed
About The Position
CVS Health is hiring a licensed, sales-oriented Beauty Sales Consultant to deliver beauty services and personalized product advice in its retail stores. The role is responsible for the end-to-end customer experience in Beauty & Personal Care, combining beauty consultations and paid services with customer engagement, product recommendations, and sales. Consultants represent CVS and its partner brands, provide required ear-piercing and other applicable services after successfully completing proficiency assessments, and educate customers on product use and features. They maintain their active state Cosmetology/Esthetician license and display it during working hours as required by state law. The position also includes maintaining product displays and a clean, well-stocked service area; following sanitation and hazardous-waste policies; attending ongoing training; and participating in sales programs and events. The role requires a flexible retail schedule, potentially including mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours, as well as travel to sales programs and events when needed.
Requirements
- Hold a current, valid Cosmetology/Esthetician license in the state of employment and maintain and display it as required.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to perform ear-piercing services and other services offered at the locations where the consultant works.
- Pass required skills assessments and training courses for paid services offered at the assigned store locations.
- Use sales data and product or brand knowledge to meet sales and beauty service goals.
- Have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Be goal-driven and able to multitask.
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and learn new procedures quickly.
- Be available to work at a CVS store and travel to sales programs and events as needed.
- Be available for a flexible retail schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours.
- Applicants for Nevada positions must provide confirmation of a state-issued Makeup Artist Registration or Threader Registration.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Prior beauty sales experience and a strong passion for beauty.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual English and Spanish ability is required in specific CVS stores.
Responsibilities
- Seek out customers and provide a high-quality beauty advisor experience.
- Provide personalized sales service based on customer needs, including upselling and suggestive selling.
- Use verbal communication to engage customers and generate sales.
- Answer customer questions using product knowledge and recommend products to support sales.
- Promote CVS services and Beauty Club programs, invite customers to in-store events, and explain promotions to close sales.
- Represent CVS and partner brands and maintain high service standards.
- Provide ear-piercing services in all stores and other applicable services offered at the locations where the consultant works.
- Pass proficiency assessments before performing in-store services.
- Demonstrate proper product usage and explain product features and benefits to help drive purchases.
- Manage time between consultations, scheduled services, and walk-in clients.
- Display a current, active Cosmetology/Esthetician license during working hours as mandated by the state.
- Create and maintain product displays and promotional materials supporting brand, corporate, and local advertising efforts.
- Participate in and represent CVS at sales programs and events.
- Keep the assigned area clean, stocked, well-merchandised, and compliant with hygiene standards.
- Follow CVS sanitation and hazardous-waste disposal policies in a timely and compliant manner.
- Complete ongoing sales, brand, and paid-service training with CVS and service partners.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
- Stay informed about current beauty trends and techniques.
