About The Position

The Beauty Counter Manager in Nordstrom’s Beauty Department serves as both a salesperson and teacher, maximizing sales for the assigned beauty brand while creating personalized beauty experiences. The role focuses on meeting sales goals, building an in-store and digital customer following, and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive team environment. The position includes beauty consultations and applications, counter operations, vendor events and relationships, and customer loyalty activities. Compensation is listed at $23.00–$23.90 per hour, with beauty sales roles typically receiving 3% commission. The position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.

Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Conduct makeup applications and skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customers’ beauty goals.
Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers.
Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals using in-store and digital selling tools, including text and social media.
Manage the scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions.
Build and maintain vendor relationships to maximize business results.
Keep the department organized, clean, and customer-ready.
Stay informed about beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through trainings provided by Nordstrom and luxury brand partners.
Manage sales, refunds, and exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
