About The Position

The Beauty Counter Manager works in Nordstrom’s Beauty Department, creating personalized beauty experiences and maximizing sales for an assigned luxury beauty brand. The role combines selling and teaching: providing makeup applications and skincare analyses, recommending products that suit customers’ beauty goals, and building a customer following in person and digitally. The manager helps create a welcoming, inclusive environment, maintains strong vendor relationships, and keeps the counter organized and customer-ready. The position involves achieving personal and counter sales goals with in-store and digital selling tools, including text and social media. It also includes coordinating vendor events and promotions, staying current on beauty trends and product knowledge through training, processing sales and returns, and building customer loyalty through Nordstrom Rewards accounts. The stated pay range is $27.20–$28.30 per hour; beauty sales roles typically receive 3% commission. The position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.

Ability to handle bulky or awkwardly shaped merchandise, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Manage sales, refunds, and exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards accounts.
