About The Position

As a Cosmetic Sales Colleague, also known as a Beauty Advisor, you are a trusted beauty expert who creates personalized and inspiring shopping experiences that build customer confidence and drive sales. You provide expert advice, product demonstrations, makeup application, and skincare recommendations, using current product and trend knowledge to match customers with products suited to their needs and style. You build lasting client relationships through follow-up, virtual outreach, and personalized service, while working to exceed customer expectations and sales goals.

Colleagues prepare for the day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new products and promotions, and keeping the sales floor clean, organized, and ready for customers. During the day, they welcome customers, create personal conversations, maintain the counter and sales floor, refresh signage and pricing, and assist with merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and collaborate with teammates to provide excellent service and achieve individual and store results.

This is a part-time role at Macy’s CHANEL Beauté in Fayette Mall. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week; schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The position requires flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as dependable attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience.

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
• Ability to deliver personalized beauty experiences by building relationships, identifying customer needs, demonstrating product application, and explaining beauty product benefits and use.
• Ability to meet and surpass daily sales goals through exceptional service.
• Ability to effectively use point-of-sale technology and digital tools.
• Ability to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
• Ability to stand for at least two consecutive hours and lift at least 25 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach, including above eye level.
• Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized, clean, and shoppable counter and sales floor; refresh signage and pricing and assist with merchandise moves as needed.
• Use clienteling tools to promote offers and product launches, and participate in sales events.
• Use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to process transactions and enhance the shopping experience.
• Prepare for each day by reviewing sales goals and learning about new arrivals, top-selling products, trends, and promotions.
• Collaborate with teammates to support customers and achieve individual and store results.
