About The Position
Bloomingdale’s Cosmetics Beauty Advisors provide excellent service and sell the full assortment both in store and online. The role focuses on building and maintaining client relationships through outstanding service and product knowledge, while ensuring compelling merchandise presentation. Beauty Advisors provide makeup application lessons, skincare consultations and treatments, and current trend advice. They create a welcoming, friendly, and engaging sales-floor experience that puts customer needs first. The position also involves driving sales with in-store and online clients through effective use of technology, and participating in merchandising and operational requirements. The role requires a flexible schedule that may include day, evening, weekend, and holiday retail hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous selling experience; cosmetics experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop; color vision is required.
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.
- Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Create an easy, seamless, and enjoyable in-store experience while building and cultivating customer relationships.
- Drive sales with in-store and online clients by embracing and becoming proficient with technology.
- Participate in merchandising and operational requirements.
- Provide makeup application lessons, skincare consultations and treatments, and current trend advice.
- Maintain compelling merchandise presentation and provide expert product knowledge.
