About The Position

The Beauty Advisor (BA) provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying their individual needs, offering product and service guidance, completing cashier tasks, keeping merchandise stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The BA supports the store leadership team by contributing to sales and in-store events, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures. The role requires a passion for the beauty industry, strong guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

The BA helps achieve store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omnichannel sales, and shrink. They welcome and assist guests, handle sales and customer service transactions, demonstrate products and services, book appointments, and stay informed about products and promotions. They also collaborate with colleagues, participate in training, maintain merchandise displays and store standards, process shipments and inventory, and follow loss prevention practices.

This position requires a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work involves frequent movement throughout the store and physical tasks such as standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, handling objects, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. The posted pay range is $14.00–$19.00 per hour, with exact pay determined by factors including qualifications, experience, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime as required by law. Requirements

• Demonstrate passion for guest service and competency in selling.
• Be proficient with basic technology, such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma is preferred.
• One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omnichannel sales, and retail shrink.
• Welcome and engage guests, personalize service, answer questions, explain promotions and sales, and recommend complementary products or services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
• Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services, including their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Support an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
• Explain the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to guests.
• Collaborate with store managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training and education.
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
• Replenish, sign, and face assigned merchandise areas and ensure testers are available.
• Maintain cleanliness and store standards in the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
• Complete merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and shipment processing or unloading.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.
