About The Position

This role involves rehearsing and performing in support of a musical theater showcase for performers ages 15+. The position is part of the Berklee Student Employment program, which offers opportunities to work part-time on campus to help meet living expenses. The program has over 900 positions available, ranging from 10 to 15 hours per week, with some project-based temporary employment options. This is considered an opportunity for professional and educational growth.

Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer employment exception: Must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester if not enrolled during the summer.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (students in their first semester are exempt until completion of their first semester).
  • Federal Work Study students may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Rehearse and perform in support of the musical theater showcase for performers ages 15+ on bass and drums.
  • Strong sight-reading and sensitive dynamics, with the ability to support singers without overpowering them.
  • Ratings ideally at 5 level or above.
