About The Position

The Basketball Coach at Highlands Sports Complex is a part-time Sports Program Team Member responsible for a variety of sports duties depending on the program needs of the day and for providing participants with a quality program experience. Duties may include supporting sports-program administration, setting up play areas, arranging and coordinating staffing, interacting with guests, and helping resolve guest concerns. The role requires working a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours in a busy, fast-paced facility.

Requirements

• Experience working with youth sports as a coach, league administrator, or event coordinator.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of ages.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours; regular attendance is necessary.
• Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent guest-service skills.
• Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations.
• Respectful and friendly conduct toward athletes, guests, visitors, spectators, leaders, and fellow team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Sports Programs with administrative responsibilities for leagues and other sports programming.
• Assist with setting up play areas.
• Arrange and schedule appropriate staffing for assigned sports programs and activities.
• Coordinate and lead game-support staff, including scorekeepers and game-clock operators.
• Complete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as needed.
• Provide courteous and friendly service to guests and staff.
• Interact with the public regarding leagues, programs, and events.
• Work with facility staff to resolve guest concerns and complaints.
• Assist facility staff in understanding and enforcing facility policies and procedures.
