About The Position

Responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality-conscious unloading and loading of bulk and packaged commodities to or from marine vessels, storage piles, railcars, and trucks. Work must consistently meet or exceed supervisor expectations and comply with published policies and procedures. The role may involve work in a ship’s hold or on the dock and general duties across terminal operations. Extensive training is provided as required in railcar, truck, warehousing, vessel operations, safety, and environmental practices.

Requirements

• Ability to work as part of a team, take direction from supervisors, maintain required work schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules.
• Availability to work all shifts and weekends, including 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to secure and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card) as a condition of employment.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Work in a ship’s hold or on the dock securing cargo for discharge from ships and/or loading onto trucks or railcars.
• Perform general duties in all areas of terminal operations as assigned.
• Complete housekeeping and general maintenance as required.
• Maintain assigned equipment and tools.
• Perform other terminal functions for which trained, as instructed by a supervisor.
• Execute customer orders and maintain necessary records.
• Meet and maintain certification for use of respiratory protective equipment as required by OSHA 1910.134.
